By this stage pupils will have come up through previous ISTD grades. Following on from ISTD Grade 6 Modern the syllabus provides a base for continued professional progression within the Intermediate syllabus.

Senior modern demands a secure technique, increased core stability, weight placement, clean and strong lines, and also continuing to nurture the students musical awareness. Modern Theatre dance originated in America before travelling to the rest of the world. It is often seen on the stages of musical productions and is known for its theatrical qualities. The style uses travelling steps, high energy kicks, leaps and turns which all need strength and flexibility.

UNIFORM

Our Modern and Tap uniform is our black leotard with black shorts, leggings or jazz pants and Jazz shoes.
