Pre-School Tap & Modern

Pre-school tap and modern class is suitable for 3-4 year olds who will be starting school the following September. The classes are imagination-based, using fun stories, props, illustrations specially arranged for pre-school age children.

The classes continue with the development of co-ordination, good posture, strength and suppleness which are first introduced in Tappy Tots dance classes, but now there is more emphasis on dancing one at a time, waiting in turn, spatial awareness, and musical appreciation. Now the children are a little older, parents are encouraged to leave the studio and let their little mini groovers get on with it all by themselves. Tap and Modern Dance also encourages self-discipline, musicality, self expression and spatial awareness. Pre-School Tap and Modern classes develop listening skills, encouraging children to follow instruction, learn to work as an individual and in groups.

UNIFORM

There is no set uniform for Pre-school classes, pupils can wear anything they can safely move in such as leggings/shorts, tshirt and plimsoles or well fitting flat trainers. However most choose to wear our Tap & Modern uniform which is a royal blue leotard with black shorts or leggings.
